The Lei Away Mission and the Spirit of Ohana
From the event’s inception, the Lei Away team has had a focus on supporting and representing the Polynesian community, here in the Kansas City area and beyond. We have local Polynesian makers, musicians, dancers, and food vendors participating in the event.
In addition, HITIDES and Collective EX, led by owner and Lei Away Creative Director, Johnny Dawbarn, is proudly committed to partnering with companies in Hawaii to provide ingredients and floral products for their business.
A portion of the proceeds from Lei Away as before, will continue to support Polynesian community and events in Kansas City. We also continue to be committed to the raising of funds to support last year's tragedy in Maui. Those organizations are The Ka Hale A Ke Ola Homeless Resource Center, Kolua Restaurant & Hospitality Fund, Maui Agriculture and The Maui Humane Society.
