Brad Sagar

 

This is Brad Sager's third year being involved in Lei Away. Brad is a tikiphile through and through. Brad got his first taste in the early 90’s when he went to the (now defunct) Trader Vic’s in Kansas City for his birthday. Enamored by the items on the walls and the wildly illustrated cocktail menu which he was much too young to savor, his interest was piqued. Little did he know, this was the start of a lifelong love affair with tiki culture.

Once of legal drinking age, Brad found himself wildly interested in cocktails and spirits, going through various educational programs and certifications, including: United States Bartender’s Guild Spirits Professional and Beverage Alcohol Resource certification.

Over the years Brad has studied the tomes of such luminaries as Sven Kirsten and Jeff "Beachbum" Berry and made his way to tiki bars across the United States, from Florida to California, Minnesota to Texas, and even locales as far as England and Dubai.

By day he designs audio visual experiences and simulations, and in his off time continues to do things nautical and ocean related, especially scuba diving… which begs the question: Why does he live in Kansas??
